Ford Says ‘Curve Control’ Feature Will Make Its Trucks Safer

As part of a slew of new safety features being introduced on the new Explorer model, Ford is trumpeting a technology called "curve control" which they believe will help alleviate rollover anxiety associated with older models.

Take a hairpin turn too quickly, and the stability control feature slows the vehicle down by as much as 10 miles per hour per second. If the speed is still too great, the Explorer will apply the breaks to avoid the driver losing control. Ford believes that this new technology can help reduce some of the 50,000 accidents per year related to taking sharp turns too quickly.
